Philosophy

Man’s Best Friend

We call them family, best friend, canine counterpart and whatever nickname comes to mind that day. We shower our dogs with affection and love daily and if you are like me, have more pictures of our dogs on our phones than we do our human friends and family.

So what’s the problem?

As an owner our job is to care and tend for our pet. We believe our dog should be as comfortable as possible, but we can overlook some of the primary concepts. Your dog may be comfortable, but does your dog find comfortability in the human world? Does your dog maintain and respect guidelines for the household and the outside world?

Lead Your Dog takes your intentions and applies them to the core belief that our dog is to share our world with us. We give you the tools to achieve the best life possible and achieve the relationship you and your dog wish to have.

The Extra Step

Every dog has a unique temperament and personality; we build all client protocols with this in mind. We believe that every dog, just as every owner, should achieve their best within their lifetime. We spend time fine tuning each training protocol to maximize happiness and return, which is to say, we want the dog to feel fulfilled, confident and be an active participant in your life.

How do we do this?

We start every client with a free consultation to meet in person, discuss current issues and review your individual goals and lifestyle to build your protocol for lasting success. We advocate for your dog and for you, bringing each party together for what training method will work best.

Dog Owners clearly state preferences like leash walking, jumping, coming when called, remaining calm inside, excessive barking and so forth. But what is your dog saying? Does your dog need something different or extra from you?

Mission

Lead Your Dog believes that dogs change our lives for the better and the bond between Man and Dog is unparalleled. The training journey should be founded on building a greater understanding and growing together for the benefit of each other. We are a small business that advocates safety, reliability and practicality for both owner and dog so you can enjoy many days, years and memories with your best friend.

Who We Are

Bri’s dog training roots began in Kansas City, Missouri. After working in vet clinics and operating as management at boarding and daycare facilities, she embarked on dog training apprenticeships and mentorships with KC veteran dog trainers. With a few years of apprenticing under her belt, she then joined forces with a KC based training group where she interned for a short while before training full time.

With a growing clientele, Bri began to find her niche with behavior modification and focused her efforts on training both dog and client. Bri began to focus her energy on her new found placement in the dog world and it was then that Lead Your Dog came forward, the training company that trained the owner with the dog.

After officiating the business and operating in the KCMO and Kansas areas, Lead Your Dog and Bri hit the road for a relocation to southern Missouri. She now operates Lead Your Dog out of Joplin, Missouri and services clients all around America. Still centering her training philosophy in comprehensive dog training, she specializes in behavior modification and obedience for dogs of any size and age.

Bri regularly offers new opportunities for clients and has diversified her training to include insured therapy programs, off leash activities and public manners. She has cultivated partnerships with several rescues as to help rehab hard to adopt dogs while teaching owners and handlers how to maintain the training. Bri is continually growing her training and maintains a regular CE policy to ensure the best quality standards.

Bri is a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP,) a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator through the American Kennel Club, Therapy Dog Handler and volunteer with youth organizations in the four states area. She is currently working on building a stronger dog community and believes in the philosophy that once you are a client, you are a lifelong friend.

Bri has five dogs and can almost always be found with one or more by her side, but most likely Mamadogg.
